For some time, commissions of experts working on behalf of the German Federal government proposed concepts for the design of a memorial site to house the facilities of the BStU. In June 2016, 25 years after the Law on Stasi Documentation had entered into force, the German Bundestag (Parliament) with votes from the CDU/CSU as well as the SPD voiced their support for changing the status of the BStU to that of a permanent institution within the Federal government. This decision ensured the continuation of further research into the history of the GDR on the basis of the sources already examined and processed as well as a roadmap for transferring the Stasi documentation archives into the network of Federal archives.

In 2016, Miroslav Svoboda obtained from Dušan Havlíček a complete collection of the Czechoslovak exile magazine “Listy”, which was published in Rome. The collection was privately owned by Dušan Havlíček, who decided to make it accessible only to scriptum.cz. It is a unique collection of the magazine, to the present day (after 1991 it was published in Prague, in 2003 the magazine was moved to Olomouc, where it was published by Burian and Tichak).
The Scriptum website is unique in that the collection of “Listy” writings had not been accessible at all, and cannot be found anywhere else in one place.
