Numerous internet resources support the political and scholastic educational work of the Robert-Havemann Society. The website concerning youth opposition to the GDR is foremost among these. Owing to the generosity of numerous record donors, this repository can be seen as an archival collection of its own. Thematically, the collection details the protests against the People’s Chamber in 1950, the 1953 Uprising, the construction of the Berlin Wall in 1961, the expatriation of Wolf Biermann in 1976, the peace movement of the early 1980s, the spread of environmental libraries beginning in 1986 and the revolutionary events of 1989. The website was created in cooperation with the Federal Center for Civic Education. For its conception, structure and editing, the website received the renowned Grimme-Online Award in 2005.
