The Archives of Yugoslavia preserves and protects archival material created by the work of state organs and organizations of the Yugoslav state from 1918 to 2006. The initiative to found the archives began in 1920, but it was only established after the Second World War, in 1950, under the name State Archive of the FNRJ (Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia). It has had its current name since 1964, with a small break from 2003 to 2009, when it was known as the Archive of Serbia and Montenegro (during the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro). Fonds in the Archives are divided into two groups: one covering the period up until 1945 and the other after 1945. They are searchable online.

évi 27. sz. tvr. alapján a művelődésügyi miniszter 94978/1970.

The “Artists for others” Association grew out of the group with the same name in September 1990. “Artists for others” began to organize cultural events in Jena starting in 1986. The proceeds of those events went to solidarity projects focusing on self-help in Latin America and Africa, but also to some which supported independent groups in the GDR. The collective was well-networked among the opposition groups of the GDR and organized readings, concerts, theater performances and exhibitions of artists who did not confirm to the official cultural policy of the GDR. Events were often attended by up to 200 visitors. Branches of “Artists for others” also existed in East Berlin and Halle. Since 1991, the association has been committed to building the „Matthias Domaschk" Thuringian Archive of Contemporary History. This Archive is the cornerstone of the group’s public political education outreach program. Martina Arndt, Petra and Thomas Grund, Henning Pietzsch, Carsten Hahn, Uwe Kulisch, Katharina Lenski, Reiner Merker and Andreas Ilse are among the founders and supporters of the association.

Artists Priesthood was a diversified group of creators who contributed to various artistic activities during the Weeks of Christian Culture in socialist Poland. The Priesthood gathered painters, writers, sculptors, actors, as well as journalists and political activists. In the 1970s and 1980s they developed a safe space for cultural activities in times of repressions and censorship. Cooperation between the Catholic Church and people of culture resulted in a myriad of artistic exhibitions, concerts, poetry readings, dramatic plays and intellectual debates all over socialist Poland – sometimes of quite modern and controversial nature. After 1989 Artist Priesthood has still been a productive group of creators, although now its members focus rather on sacral art and religious subjects.
